Learning Outcomes (Post-Production)

Working on the Harmony magazine project, with its focus on addressing child labor issues, proved to be an illuminating journey that enhanced my skills and understanding of various editing programs, including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Canva.

Within the constraints of time, I learned to adapt and navigate through the intricacies of the production process. Assuming a directorial role during pre-production, decisions about locations, equipment, props, costumes, and casting underscored the necessity of thorough planning for a seamless shooting experience.

My proficiency in media skills extended beyond the Adobe suite to include Canva, offering a more diverse approach to design. The mastery of tools such as selection tools, dropper tool, color palettes, transform tool, blending options like stroke and shadows, drop caps tool, brush tool, rectangle tool, and masking tool not only broadened my skill set but also enriched my design capabilities.

Exploring photography concepts, from depth of field to the rule of thirds and filling the frame, provided a broader visual perspective. Recognizing the importance of negative spaces and alignment for a polished appearance underscored the need for continued improvement.

Harmony magazine emphasized the significance of consistency and fluency in design, ensuring a cohesive visual narrative for all feature articles. The challenges associated with addressing child labor amplified the importance of effective communication and persuasion to convey the magazine's impactful message.

Engaging with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro throughout this process deepened my understanding of advanced editing techniques. Integrating these tools into the production workflow allowed for more sophisticated and nuanced storytelling, further elevating the magazine's overall impact.

Incorporating Canva, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Premiere Pro into my skill set, alongside the experiences gained from the Harmony magazine project, has equipped me with a versatile toolkit for future endeavors in the practical world. The ability to adapt, plan effectively, and leverage various editing programs highlights the comprehensive growth achieved through this impactful project.
